Neutralization and pH of Acids And Bases

The Setup:

You start with two separate liquids one is acid (lemon juice) and one is base (soap water).

The Meeting:

You pour the acid and the base in a same container.

The Chemical Swap:

Inside the acid there is H+ ions which is hydrogen+ ions and in the base there is OH- ions which is hydroxide- ions.

Triglyceride-Glucose (TyG) index

Step 1: What does TyG stand for?TyG is short for Tyglyceride-Glucose.It is a number that doctors use to check for Insulin Resistance. Insulin resistance means your body's cells are starting to ignore insulin, which can eventually lead to Type 2 diabetes.Step 2: The Two IngredientsTo find this index, you only need two numbers from a standard, fasting blood test:Fasting Glucose: The amount of sugar in your blood.Fasting Triglycerides: The amount of fat in your blood.Step 3: Why do we combine fat and sugar? In the past, doctors only looked at sugar (glucose) to find diabetes. However, science discovered that when your body starts becoming insulin resistant, your liver also starts pumping out extra fat (triglycerides).By looking at both fat and sugar together, the TyG index catches insulin resistance much earlier than a basic sugar test.Step 4: How the Math Works (Simply)You do not need to do this math in your head.…

How apples become brown when we cut them and leave them for a long time

lalala wait what! what happened to my apple it`s brown! wait! how do they become like that so when you cut an apple,

  1. Cells break down

  2. chemical reaction happens called oxidation

  3. there is a enzyme in the apple called polyphelonol oxidase (PPO)

  4. when the enzyme is exposed to oxygen it creates brown pigments called melanin makes the apple brown.

ions and ionic bonding

Ions: Atoms that gain or lose electrons.

  • Lose → positive ion (cation)

  • Gain → negative ion (anion)

Ionic bonding: A metal gives electrons to a non-metal. The opposite charges attract.Example: Na⁺ + Cl⁻ → NaCl

What is a Atom?

  1. so atoms are the smallest unit of matter and building blocks of everything in the universe

  2. be it solid, liquid or gas right from the gain of sand to strand of hair to your body to the planets, stars and the moon to the infinity.

  3. where did it all began as the story goes one fine day in ancient india maharshi kanada an indian scientist sage and philosopher was walking with food in his hand as he ate the food after chewing for a while it occcured to him that he could not divide the food into further part

  4. thus the idea of a matter which cannot be divided further came into existence. he called that indivisible matter "anu" a sanskrit word for atoms. Even though sage Kanada was believed to be the first one to come up with this idea,

  5. but the credit for making this concept popular and proposing the…
