mass and weight
Mass and weight are related but not the same:
Mass is the amount of matter in an object.
It never changes.
Measured in kilograms (kg).
Weight is the force of gravity acting on that mass.
It changes if gravity changes (like on the Moon).
Measured in newtons (N).
👉 Formula:
Weight=Mass×Gravity (W=m×g)\text{Weight} = \text{Mass} \times \text{Gravity} \ (W = m \times g)Weight=Mass×Gravity (W=m×g)
Example:If your mass is 50 kg, your weight on Earth is 50 × 9.8 = 490 N.
