Do you know mountains yes/no. So i will tell you a secret. When you dig carefully on a mountain you can see shells right so the shells name is fossil (fahs - silz), it is found in rocks. here are the things that make fossils.

1. Shells alive.

2. Shells are dead, become fossils and covered by sediment.

3. More sediment covering.

4. Sediment are lifted.

5. Erosion of sediment.

6. Copies of fossils can be seen.
