Muscles
Muscles are soft tissues in the body that produce movement by contracting and relaxing. The human body has more than 600 muscles, which make up about 40% of body weight. Muscles work by pulling on bones with the help of tendons, allowing us to walk, run, jump, write, and smile. There are three types of muscles: skeletal muscles, which move our bones and are under our control; smooth muscles, which work automatically in organs like the stomach and intestines; and cardiac muscle, which is found only in the heart and pumps blood throughout the body. Muscles need oxygen and nutrients to produce energy, and regular exercise and a healthy diet help keep them strong and healthy
