Investigating Variation:
Means studying the differences between individuals of the same species. It is a way to observe, measure, and understand how living things are not exactly the same.

2. Collect Data
You measure or observe many individuals
For example
• Measure the height of all students
• Measure leaf size of many plants
3. Median
Median is the middle value in your results
A set of numbers you collected during an investigation
4. Mode
Mode is the most common value in a set of data
It shows which feature appears most
5. Mean
Mean is the average value in a set of numbers
You find it by adding all the values and then dividing by how many values there are
