States of matter

States of Matter.

Matter means everything around us.

It can be solid, liquid, or gas.

The states of matter can also change.

1. Solid.

  • Has shape of its own.

  • Particles are very close and tightly packed.

  • They cannot move freely, only vibrate.

2. Liquid.

  • No fixed shape.

  • Takes the shape of the container.

  • Particles are close but can move.

3. Gas.

  • No fixed shape.

  • Spreads out to fill any space.

  • Particles are far apart.

Fun Fact

99% of the universe is actually in the plasma state, not solid, liquid or gas.
