What is Particle Theory?

Everything is made of tiny particles that are always moving and have spaces between them.

Movement of Particles.

• Solids: particles vibrate in one place.

• Liquids: particles move around each other.

• Gases: particles move very fast in all directions.

Spaces Between Particles.

• Solids: very little space.

• Liquids: more space.

• Gases: a lot of space.

Attraction Between Particles.

• Strong in solids.

• Medium in liquids.

• Weak in gases.

Heat and Particles.

• Heat makes particles move faster and spread apart.

• Cooling makes particles slow down and come closer.

Fun Fact.

If particles stopped moving, everything would freeze completely.
