Plant Kingdom

• The Plant Kingdom (Plantae) includes all multicellular, eukaryotic, and autotrophic organisms that make their own food by photosynthesis.

• They have cell walls made of cellulose.

• Most plants contain chlorophyll, which gives them a green color.

• They are mainly non-motile (don’t move).

• Plants provide oxygen, food, and shelter for other living things.

1. Algae – Simple, water-living plants (e.g., Spirogyra).

2. Bryophytes – Small plants that live in moist places (e.g., Mosses).

3. Pteridophytes – Have stems and leaves but no flowers (e.g., Ferns).

4. Gymnosperms – Have seeds not enclosed in fruits (e.g., Pine).

5. Angiosperms – Flowering plants with seeds inside fruits (e.g., Mango, Rose).
