Physical Equation
Speed
Speed = Distance ÷ Time
Tells us how fast something moves.
Example:
If you travel 20 m in 5 sSpeed = 20 ÷ 5 = 4 m/s
Distance
Distance = Speed × Time
Tells us how far something travels.
Time
Time = Distance ÷ Speed
Tells us how long motion takes.
Force
Force = Mass × Acceleration
Force is a push or pull that makes things move, stop, or change direction.
More mass = more force needed
Work
Work = Force × Distance
Work is done only when an object moves.
If you push a wall and it doesn’t move → no work done
Energy
Energy = Ability to do work
(No simple number formula yet, but very important!)
Types:
Mechanical energy
Heat energy
Light energy
Electrical energy
Power
Power = Work ÷ Time
Shows how fast work is done.
Density
Density = Mass ÷ Volume
Tells us how heavy something is for its size
Objects float or sink because of density!
Pressure
Pressure = Force ÷ Area
Smaller area = more pressure
Sharp knife cuts better because pressure is high.
Memory Tip
× (multiply) → when things increase together
÷ (divide) → when sharing or spreading out
Fun Fact
Astronauts float in space because gravity is very weak, not because there is no force!
