Why does a turtle go slow

Turtles are slow mainly because of their body design:

1. Heavy shell 🛡️Their shell protects them like armor, but it’s heavy. Carrying it all the time makes them move slowly.

2. Short legs 🦵Most turtles (especially land ones) have short, sturdy legs made for walking steadily, not for running fast.

3. Energy saving 😴Turtles don’t need to rush! They save energy and move slowly so they can survive longer without needing lots of food.

4. Safety over speed 🐢➡️🛡️Instead of running away, they hide inside their shell when danger comes. So they don’t need to be fast like a cheetah.

👉 Fun fact: Sea turtles can actually swim pretty fast in water! 🌊

Turtle vs cheetah

🐢 Turtle vs 🐆 Cheetah

🐢 Turtle (land turtle)

Speed: about 0.3 km/h

That’s super slow… like a very slow walk!

🐆 Cheetah

Speed: up to 100–120 km/h

That’s the fastest land animal on Earth! ⚡

🤯 Big Difference!

A cheetah is about 300 times faster than a turtle!

If they had a race… the cheetah would finish in seconds ⏱️

while the turtle would still be at the start 😆

But wait! 🐢 wins in another way…

Turtles live a very long time (some over 100 years!)

Cheetahs don’t live that long

👉 So:

Cheetah = Speed Champion 🏆

Turtle = Survival Champion 🛡️

Cheetah runs upto 100 - 120 km/h and some turtles lives more than 100 years🤯
