Tissue
MAIN POINT
Tissues are groups of similar cells that work together to do a specific job in the body.
WHY DO WE NEED TISSUES?
We need tissues because:
1. One cell alone cannot do big jobs.
2. Tissues make work faster and easier by dividing the jobs.
3. They help form organs like the heart, lungs, stomach, skin.
4. They help the body grow, repair, and stay healthy.
5. They make our body systems work smoothly (digestive, nervous, muscular).
WHY ARE TISSUES IMPORTANT?
Tissues are important because:
1. They protect the body (skin tissue).
2. They support the body (bone tissue).
3. They help in movement (muscle tissue).
4. They carry messages (nerve tissue).
5. They transport materials (blood tissue).
6. They help organs perform their functions properly.
Without tissues, the body cannot survive.
EXAMPLES OF TISSUES
Here are simple examples from each type:
1. Epithelial Tissue
Skin
Lining of mouth
Lining of stomach
2. Connective Tissue
Blood
Bone
Cartilage
Fat tissue
3. Muscle Tissue
Skeletal muscles (arms, legs)
Smooth muscles (intestines, stomach)
Cardiac muscle (heart)
4. Nervous Tissue
Brain
Spinal cord
Nerves in hands and feet
