Pollution
Pollution is the dirtying of air, water, or land by harmful substances.
Types of pollution:
1. Air pollution – When the air becomes dirty.
2. Water pollution – When water gets contaminated.
Air pollution
Air becomes dirty and unsafe to breathe.
Smoke from vehicles and factories causes pollution.
Burning garbage adds harmful gases to the air.
Air pollution can causes coughing and breathing problems.
Plants and animals are also harmed by polluted air.
Examples:
1. Smoke from cars and buses that makes the air dirty.
2. Smoke from factories that releases harmful gases into the air.
Water pollution
1. Water becomes dirty and unsafe for living things.
2. Harmful chemicals and waste mix with water.
3. Polluted water can kill fish and other water animals.
4. Dirty water can cause sickness in humans.
5. Water pollution damages the whole environment
Examples:
1. Factories releasing chemical waste into rivers.
2. People throwing plastic and garbage into lakes or ponds.
