OZONE DEPLETION

What is ozone depletion?

Ozone depletion is the thinning of the ozone layer in the atmosphere because of harmful chemicals released by humans.

1. The ozone layer becomes thin due to harmful human-made chemicals.

2. CFCs (from old fridges, ACs, and sprays) are the main cause.

3. Thin ozone layer lets more dangerous UV rays reach Earth.

4. Increased UV rays can damage skin, eyes, and plants.

5. Stopping the use of ozone-damaging chemicals helps the layer recover.

Examples:

1. Old refrigerators releasing CFC gas into the air.

2. Sprays (aerosols) using CFCs that rise up and damage ozone.

Main points about ozone depletion:

1. The ozone layer becomes thin because of harmful chemicals released by humans.

2. CFCs from old fridges, ACs, and sprays are the main cause of ozone damage.

3. When the ozone gets thin, more harmful UV rays reach Earth and can affect humans, plants, and the environment.
