Animal cell

An animal cell is the basic unit of life in animals. It is very small and can be seen only under a microscope. Unlike plant cells, animal cells do not have a cell wall or chloroplast. They are surrounded by a thin cell membrane that controls what goes in and out. Inside the cell, there is a jelly-like fluid called cytoplasm where all the parts, like the nucleus, mitochondria, and ribosomes, float and work together. The nucleus is the “brain” of the cell because it controls all activities and carries genetic material (DNA). Animal cells help the body grow, repair, and stay healthy.
