Mixtures and Solution
Mixes (Mixtures)
A mixture is when two or more things are put together but they don’t change into something new.
Example: Sand + salt, rice + dal, nuts + raisins.
You can separate them easily.
Types of mixtures:
Homogeneous mixture – Looks the same everywhere (like sugar in water).
Heterogeneous mixture – You can see the different parts (like salad).
2. Solutions
A solution is a special kind of mixture where one substance dissolves in another.
Example: Salt in water, sugar in tea.
You cannot separate it easily, because it looks the same everywhere.
Parts of a solution:
Solute – the thing that dissolves (salt, sugar).
Solvent – the thing that does the dissolving (water, milk).
