Velocity is the distance covered by an object per unit of time.
Detailed explanation about velocity with example:
Velocity is an essential concept in physics, which measures the rate of change of an object’s position concerning time. When the speed of an object is measured in a specific direction, it is termed Velocity. Also, the time-rate change of displacement is known as velocity. Both speed and velocity are quite similar to each other. But exhibits an important difference in that velocity is a vector quantity with both magnitude and direction. And speed is a scalar quantity that has magnitude only. Thus, Velocity measures how much time a body takes to reach a destination with direction.
Example:
Velocity is a Vector quantity, which means it has a magnitude/mass and a direction. So let's imagine that we have a car, for example, a Bugatti (probably because no normal car can go 300 miles per hour) moving at 300miles per hour to the right, as we said if we have a direction with a magnitude, then it means it is a vector quantity, so if not speed then it is velocity.
