Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and is called the Red Planet because its surface is covered with red dust. It is smaller than Earth and has cold weather, tall volcanoes like Olympus Mons, and deep valleys like Valles Marineris. Mars has two small moons, Phobos and Deimos. Long ago, Mars had rivers and lakes, so scientists send robots and rovers to study if life ever existed there. One day, humans might travel to Mars.
MY NOTES:
Mars is a small, cold, red planet with volcanoes, valleys, two moons, and signs of ancient water.

What is the red dust made of?
Why does it have a colder weather than earth? If lava doesn’t come out of those volcanoes on moon why are they called the volcanoes?
So mars had water in those lakes and rivers? What is Phobos and Deimos? what is the difference between Phobos and Deimos?
Why is Mars’s day almost the same length as Earth’s, and how does that affect potential human activity?
How do Mars's polar ice caps and seasonal CO₂ cycles compare with Earth’s polar systems?
What are the greatest engineering challenges of building a sustainable colony on Mars?
Could humans terraform Mars, and what would be the environmental or ethical consequences?
How long could humans survive on Mars with current technology?
