What is Gravity
Gravity is the force of attraction between all objects with mass, pulling them towards each other.
A force is an influence that can cause an object to change its velocity unless counterbalanced by other forces. In mechanics, force makes ideas like 'pushing' or 'pulling' mathematically precise.
In physics, velocity means the rate of change of an object's position over time, including both its speed and direction.
Gravity is a fundamental force of nature.
The fundamental forces of nature, also known as fundamental interactions, are the basic forces that govern the behavior of matter and energy in the universe.
There are four known fundamental forces :
Gravitational interaction - interaction between bodies having mass (Newton's gravitational law). Gravity is the weakest interaction, but nevertheless, the most important on a cosmic scale, since very large masses interact (for example, the planet Earth attracts a person). All bodies in the universe are subject to gravity. Gravity acts at any distance.
Electromagnetic interaction - interaction between charges (Coulomb's law). This is a fairly strong force compared to gravity. Electromagnetic interaction is most important in our macroscopic world (the human world), since most of the phenomena of this world are the result of electromagnetic interactions of various nature (interaction of charges, magnets, and derivatives such as friction force, etc.). Electromagnetic interaction also acts at any distance.
Strong interaction - this is the strongest interaction, but it acts only in the nuclei of atoms (interaction between quarks). That is why the nuclei of atoms do not fall apart under the influence of the Coulomb repulsion between protons.
Weak interaction - an interaction that acts inside some particles, and which leads to their decay (for example, the decay of a neutron). This is the "shortest" interaction in nature - its "length" is 1000 times less than the "length" of the strong interaction acting in nuclei. The weak interaction is stronger than the gravitational interaction (and only).
