A well designed trickle or drip irrigation system benefits the environment by conserving water and fertilizer and requires little labour to use.
Advantages of trickle drip system:
Water placed directly at the base of the plant.
The system can be automated and controlled via computer.
Water is used very efficiently.
Disadvantages of trickle drip system:
Expensive to install and complex to maintain.
Small particles such as grit can block tubes.
Inflexible: cannot easily be moved.
