If you put a tiny bit of food coloring into a glass of still water, what happens to the color over time? Does it stay in one spot, or does it slowly spread out? What makes it spread?
Think about a crowd of people. Even if no one is running, everyone is always moving and bumping into each other a little bit. How is this like what might be happening to tiny things in water or air?
If you watch tiny tiny things in water, they don't move in a straight line. They zig and zag and wobble! What could be causing them to change direction so often?

What is Brownian Motion? It's about how tiny, tiny particles move when you can't even see what's pushing them. What are those invisible pushers, and what are they made of?
Imagine pollen grains floating in water. Why do they seem to dance randomly, even if the water itself looks perfectly still? What does this tell us about the water?
Explain how the movement of invisible water molecules causes a visible pollen grain to jiggle and change direction constantly.
Why does a drop of ink slowly spread out through a whole glass of water on its own? What role do the tiny, invisible water molecules play in this spreading?
