What Causes Worms Inside Our Body?
Worms in the human body are caused by parasitic organisms, most commonly:
1. Roundworms (Nematodes)
Examples: Ascaris, hookworms, pinworms, threadworms
Transmission: Contaminated food or water, walking barefoot on soil with larvae, poor hygiene
2. Flatworms
Examples: Tapeworms (cestodes), flukes (trematodes)
Transmission: Eating undercooked or contaminated meat/fish, drinking contaminated water
Common Causes/Factors:
Poor sanitation (open defecation, unclean water sources)
Improper handwashing
Eating raw or undercooked meat or fish
Walking barefoot in contaminated areas
Contact with contaminated soil or surfaces
Symptoms of Worm Infections:
Abdominal pain or bloating
Diarrhea or constipation
Itching around the anus (especially in pinworm cases)
Weight loss
Fatigue
Visible worms in stool or vomit
Prevention:
Wash hands with soap regularly
Drink clean or boiled water
Cook meat thoroughly
Wear shoes outdoors
Deworm regularly (especially in areas with poor sanitation)
