Space debris, also called space junk, is made up of old satellites, broken rocket parts, and tiny pieces of metal that float around Earth in space. These leftovers from past space missions move very fast and can crash into working satellites or even space stations, causing serious damage. As more rockets and satellites are launched, the amount of debris keeps growing, making space travel more dangerous. Scientists are now working on ways to clean up space and prevent more junk from piling up.
My notes:Space debris is fast-moving junk from old satellites and rockets that can harm spacecraft.
