A firefly is a small bug that can shine light from its back. It makes this light using a special part inside its body. The light helps fireflies talk to each other, especially so boys can find girls to be their friends. Baby fireflies live in the ground and eat tiny bugs. Fireflies come out at night during warm summer months and are fun to watch because of their glowing lights.
