Friction happens when two things rub against each other.
It tries to stop things from sliding or moving.
Your shoes use friction to stop you from slipping.
Without friction, cars wouldn’t be able to stop!
Rubbing your hands makes them warm because of friction.
Rough surfaces have more friction than smooth ones.
Ice is slippery because it has very little friction.
Friction can slow things down.
Sometimes we want less friction, like in slides.
Sometimes we want more friction, like on tires.
