A cell is a basic structural, functional and biological unit of all living organisms. which basically means all organisms are made up of cell.
Organisms can be classified into 2 based on cell: unicellular organisms and multi cellular organisms.
Unicellular organisms are made up of one single cell eg: bacteria, amoeba etc
Multicellular organisms are made up of thousands of cells eg: Humans, dogs, cat etc Nucleus: This is the control center of the cell. It contains the cell's genetic information (DNA) and controls all of the cell's activities, such as growth and metabolism.
Mitochondria: Often called the "powerhouses" of the cell. They are responsible for producing the energy (in the form of a molecule called ATP) that the cell needs to function.
Ribosomes: These are like small factories that build proteins. They can be found floating freely in the cytoplasm or attached to the endoplasmic reticulum.
Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER): This is a network of membranes that helps process molecules within the cell and transport them to their final destinations.
Rough ER: This part has ribosomes attached to it, giving it a "rough" appearance. It's involved in making and processing proteins.
Smooth ER: This part does not have ribosomes. It is involved in making lipids (fats) and detoxifying the cell.
Golgi Apparatus: This organelle is like a sorting and packaging center. It modifies, sorts, and packages proteins and lipids before they are sent to their final destinations.
Cytoplasm: This is the jelly-like fluid that fills the cell and surrounds all the organelles. Most of the cell's chemical reactions take place here.
Cell Membrane: This is the outer boundary of the cell. It controls what enters and leaves the cell, protecting it from the outside environment.
Vacuoles: These are sacs used for storing water, nutrients, and waste products. They are much larger in plant cells than in animal cells.
Chloroplasts: These are found in plant cells and some algae. They are responsible for photosynthesis, the process of using sunlight to create food (glucose) for the plant.
