White Light in Physics
White light is the light we see from sources like the sun or a bulb. Even though it looks plain white, it’s actually made up of many colors!
What Is White Light Made Of?
White light is a mixture of 7 colors:Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet(You can remember this as ROYGBIV)
Each color has a different wavelength, with red having the longest and violet the shortest.
How Do We See the Colors?
When white light passes through a prism or water droplets, it splits into the 7 colors. This is called dispersion—and it’s how rainbows form!
Key Fact:
White light = All visible colors combinedBlack = No light
