THE START
Sperm are the male sex cells, produced by the male reproductive system, that are essential for reproduction.
What are Sperms? Sperm is the male reproductive cell, or gamete, in anisogamous forms of sexual reproduction. What is anisogamous forms of sexual reproduction? There are 2 types of sexual reproduction based on the size and shapes of the gametes :
--- Isogamy
--- Anisogamy
Isogamy refers to a form of reproduction where the male and female gametes are similar in size and shapes. Examples are some algae and protozoa.
Anisogamy refers to a form of reproduction where the male and female gametes are different in both size and shapes. Examples are humans and many other.
There are 3 types of Anisogamy :
--- Motile Anisogamy
--- Non-Motile Anisogamy
--- Oogamy
Motile anisogamy is a form of anisogamy where both the gametes are motile. Non-motile anisogamy is a form of anisogamy where both the gametes are non-motile. Oogamy is a form of anisogamy where the female gametes is non-motile and male gametes is motile.
Gametes - A mature haploid male or female germ cell which is able to unite with another of the ,
opposite sex in sexual reproduction to form zygote
Reproduction - The biological process where new organism are produced from their parent (s).
During sexual intercourse, the sperm is released into the vagina from the urethra.
The female reproductive system is a collection of internal and external organs that work together to enable reproduction, pregnancy, and childbirth.
The 2 parts of female reproductive systems are internal genitalia and external genitalia. External genitalia is also known as genitals. There are 5 organs - internal genitalia - and 1 organ - external genitalia - in general.
The 5 internal genitalia are :
--- Vagina
--- Ovaries
--- Uterus
--- Fallopian Tubes
--- Vestibular Glands
The 1 external genitalia is Vulva.
Vagina is the muscular tube leading from the external genitals to the cervix of the uterus in the women and most female mammals.
Ovaries are a pair of female reproductive glands responsible for the production of eggs and female hormones, including estrogen and projesterone.
Uterus is the organ in the lower body of a woman or female mammal where offsprine are conceived and in which they gestate before birth ; the womb.
Fallopian Tube is a pair of tubes along which eggs travel from ovaries to the uterus.
The Vestibular glands are 2 pairs of glands that open at the junction of the vagina and vulva.
Vulva is the female external genitals.
