Price elasticity of demand .

Law of Demand & Price Elasticity of Demand (PED)

  • The Law of Demand says that when the price increases, people usually buy less of that product.

  • But how much less they buy depends on how sensitive or responsive they are to price changes.

Price Elasticity of Demand (PED)

PED shows how much demand changes when the price changes.

  • Price Inelastic Demand → Demand changes a little when price changes.Example: Rice, petrol, toothpaste – people still need them even if prices rise.

animal adaptation

🧬 What Are Structural Adaptations?

Structural adaptations are physical features or body parts of an animal that help it survive, hunt, protect itself, or reproduce in its environment. These features are inborn (not learned) and are passed down from generation to generation.

Animals evolve these structures over time to fit their surroundings — for example, animals in the desert need ways to save water, while those in cold places need ways to stay warm.

🌵 1. Desert Animals

Desert animals live where water is scarce and temperatures are extreme.Examples:

  • Camel: Has a hump that stores fat (used for energy when food is limited), long eyelashes and closing nostrils to keep out sand, and broad feet to walk easily on sand.

conservation

  • conservation means taking care of earths natural things

  • there are 2 types of conservation renewable resource conservation and non renewable resource conservation

  • renewable resource conservation means protecting things that can grow back

  • non renewable resource conservation means saving things that cannot come back easily

  • conservation is important for life on earth

  • we need conservation so things dont run out

 Adaptation

Adaptation is the process where a living organism becomes better suited to its environment to survive and reproduce. Think of it as a helpful feature that an organism has developed over time.

  •  A characteristic or trait that increases an organism's chances of survival and successful reproduction in its specific habitat.

  •  It results from natural selection acting on variations within a species over many generations.

  • Species: A group of living organisms consisting of similar individuals capable of exchanging genes or interbreeding.

  • Examples:

Viruses

  • Viruses come in many shapes and structures.

  • Each virus has a core of genetic material — either RNA or DNA — surrounded by a protein coat.

  • They do not have:

    • Nucleus

    • Cytoplasm

    • Cell organelles

Exothermic Reactions

What are Exothermic reactions

----------------------------------------------------

Exothermic reactions are chemical processes that release energy, typically as heat, into the surroundings.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The equation of potassium with water is

potassium + water --> potassium hydroxide + hydrogen

Keshu, You know a chemical reaction is finished when there are no more observable changes like color change or bubbling, the amount of precipitate stops forming, or the total mass remains constant. i did understand this point.

Micro organisms and decay

Microorganisms are tiny living things that cannot be seen with our eyes. They include bacteria and fungi. These microorganisms play an important role in decay. Decay means the breaking down of dead plants, dead animals, food scraps, and other organic materials.

When something dies or falls to the ground, microorganisms start to feed on it. As they feed, they break the material into smaller and simpler substances. This process releases nutrients back into the soil.
